The child is a illusion, the walrider in outlast 1 while he was being made. I like that by the end you are just another nutjob. At least that leaves it open to more installments or DLC. Murkoff made everyone crazy, and the world didn't actually end. "Hey boss, this guy didnt read the notes we put in the game and he doesnt get the ending." "Just show him an outlast 2 story explained article." I get it now. I don't know, I just thought the ending was a little lame and too abrupt to end the Outlast 'series', if you could call it that.

Apparently the developers didn't give a♥♥♥♥♥♥about connecting the two games in any way, and went full on supernatural with this one.
